    Lip Filler

Hyaluronic acid lip enhancement for subtle shape, hydration, and definition.

    The short answer

Lip filler is hyaluronic acid placed in and around the lips to refine shape, balance, and hydration. At Plump it is priced by syringe size: 0.25cc is $450, 0.5cc is $600, and 1cc is $850. Results are immediate, settle over two weeks, last 9-12 months, and are fully reversible with hyaluronidase.

    About Lip Filler

Lip filler is hyaluronic acid placed strategically in and around the lips to refine shape, balance proportion, and add hydration. The good version of this treatment isn't about making lips bigger — it's about making them look like a better version of yours.

At Plump we work in small increments. A typical first appointment uses a quarter to a full syringe depending on your starting anatomy and what you're after. We use Volbella, Juvederm Ultra, and Restylane Kysse depending on the texture and behavior we want — softer products for hydration and definition, slightly firmer ones for projection and structure.

Results are immediate but evolve over the first two weeks as swelling resolves. Hyaluronic acid lip filler typically lasts 9–12 months, sometimes longer depending on the product and your metabolism. If you ever decide you don't like it, it's fully reversible with hyaluronidase.

    In depth

    Shape before volume

The lips people admire are rarely the biggest ones. They have a defined vermilion border, a visible Cupid's bow, a lower lip slightly fuller than the upper, and a clean transition into the surrounding skin. Almost all of that is structure, not volume.

So we treat lips as a shaping problem. Depending on your anatomy that might mean supporting the border to stop lipstick bleeding, everting a lip that rolls inward when you smile, correcting a side that sits lower than the other, or adding a small amount of central projection. Volume is the byproduct of doing those things well, not the goal.

This is also why the same 0.5cc looks completely different on two people. Product placed along the border reads as definition; the same product placed in the body of the lip reads as size. Where it goes matters more than how much.

The products and why they differ

We use Juvederm Volbella, Juvederm Ultra, and Restylane Kysse. They are all hyaluronic acid, but they behave differently in tissue.

Volbella is low in cohesivity and integrates softly — it is our choice for hydration, fine vertical lip lines, and patients who want a change that reads as "well rested" rather than "treated." Juvederm Ultra has more lift capacity and holds projection, which suits lips that need real structural support. Restylane Kysse is formulated with flexibility in mind and tends to move naturally with expression, which matters on a mouth that is constantly in motion.

A good injector chooses the product after looking at your lip, not before. If a practice uses one filler for every lip, that is a supply decision rather than a clinical one.

    Sizing and cost

Our three sizes are the Bee Sting at 0.25cc ($450, members $405), Just a Lil Lip at 0.5cc ($600, members $540), and Full Lip at 1cc ($850, members $765). Pricing is identical at all six locations.

Most first-time patients land at 0.25cc or 0.5cc. We are deliberate about this: filler can always be added at a follow-up, but removing it means dissolving and starting over, which costs you time and money and puts your lips through an unnecessary cycle. Under-treating is a recoverable error. Over-treating is not.

If you are comparing quotes across the city, confirm you are comparing the same syringe volume. A $500 quote for 0.5cc and a $700 quote for 1cc are not what they look like at first glance.

Swelling, bruising, and the two-week rule

Lips swell more than anywhere else on the face because the tissue is loose and highly vascular. Expect meaningful swelling for 24-72 hours, with the worst of it on the morning after. Some asymmetry during this phase is normal and is not a result.

Do not judge your lips, book a touch-up, or panic before day fourteen. The overwhelming majority of "my filler looks wrong" messages we receive arrive on day two and resolve on their own.

Bruising is common on lips and typically lasts three to seven days. To reduce it, avoid alcohol, fish oil, high-dose vitamin E, and NSAIDs for 24-48 hours beforehand if your physician says it is safe to pause them. Book at least two weeks out from any event you care about.

    Longevity, migration, and reversibility

Hyaluronic acid lip filler generally lasts 9-12 months. Lips are among the fastest areas to metabolize product because they never stop moving. Many patients maintain with a small touch-up every 6-9 months rather than a full syringe annually.

Migration — product drifting above the vermilion border and creating a shelf or a faint mustache-shaped fullness — is usually the result of overfilling, superficial placement, or repeat treatment before the previous product has resolved. It is largely preventable with conservative dosing and appropriate spacing between appointments.

If you ever want it gone, hyaluronidase dissolves hyaluronic acid within 24-48 hours. That reversibility is a genuine safety feature and one of the main reasons we work exclusively with hyaluronic acid in lips.

What lip filler costs in New York, compared honestly

Manhattan lip filler is quoted anywhere from roughly $600 to $1,200 for a single syringe. That spread is not mostly about product cost — hyaluronic acid syringes cost every practice a similar amount — it is about who is holding the needle, how much time you get, and whether the quote covers a full millilitre or a half.

Our pricing is posted and identical at every clinic: $450 for 0.25cc, $600 for 0.5cc, $850 for 1cc, with member pricing at $405, $540 and $765. There is no consultation fee when you book for treatment, and a two-week follow-up assessment is included rather than sold back to you.

When you compare quotes, ask three questions: what volume is included, which product is being used, and whether hyaluronidase is stocked on site. A cheaper half-syringe from someone who cannot dissolve their own work is not the better deal.

Where we treat, and how to choose a clinic

Plump has six locations — Tribeca, SoHo, West Village and the Upper East Side in Manhattan, plus Hoboken and Brickell in Miami. Pricing, products and protocols are the same at all of them, so choose on logistics rather than expecting a different standard of care.

Tribeca and SoHo carry the widest weekday availability and are the easiest for anyone commuting downtown. The West Village clinic suits evening appointments. Uptown works for the East Side and Midtown. Hoboken saves PATH riders a river crossing, and Brickell serves our Miami patients on the same menu.

If you have seen a specific injector before, book with them directly — continuity matters more than location. Lips are a shaping treatment, and the person who placed your last syringe knows exactly where it went.

    Questions about lip filler

Across Manhattan, one syringe of hyaluronic acid lip filler generally runs $700–$1,200. At Plump it is $450 for 0.25cc, $600 for 0.5cc and $850 for a full 1cc syringe, and the price is identical at all six clinics — Tribeca, SoHo, West Village, Upper East Side, Hoboken and Brickell. Members pay $405, $540 and $765.

A half syringe (0.5cc) is $600 at Plump, $540 for members. That is the most common first appointment for someone who wants a visible but conservative change. If you want something even lighter, 0.25cc is $450.

Firmer, more cohesive gels such as Juvéderm Ultra tend to hold the longest in lips — often the full 12 months — while softer products like Volbella integrate beautifully but metabolize faster, closer to 9 months. Restylane Kysse sits between the two. Longevity also depends on your metabolism and how much you talk, exercise and sun-expose the area, so the product that lasts longest on paper is not always the right one for your lip.

One full millilitre (1cc) is $850 at Plump, $765 for members. Most first-time patients do not need a full millilitre in the lips — we would rather start at 0.5cc and add at a two-week follow-up than overfill.

Plump has six clinics: Tribeca, SoHo, West Village and the Upper East Side in Manhattan, plus Hoboken and Brickell in Miami. Every location uses the same injectors' protocols, the same products and the same posted pricing, and most locations have same-week availability.

We use a strong topical numbing cream and the filler itself contains lidocaine, so most patients rate the discomfort as low. The lips are sensitive but the appointment is short — usually under 30 minutes.

Most patients get 9–12 months from a treatment, sometimes longer. Lips move a lot, which accelerates metabolism of the product compared to other areas. A small touch-up every 6–9 months keeps the shape consistent.

Not at Plump. We dose conservatively, especially on first appointments, and we focus on shape and proportion rather than just adding volume. If you want very subtle, tell us — we have a 0.25cc 'Bee Sting' option for exactly this.

Most first-timers do well with 0.5cc to 1cc. Your injector will assess your lip anatomy, symmetry, and goals at consultation and recommend an amount. We'd rather under-treat and bring you back than overfill.

Pricing is posted on our Treatments page and varies by syringe size — Bee Sting (0.25cc), East Coast (0.5cc), and West Coast (1cc). Members of our injectable membership get reduced pricing.

Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler is fully reversible with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks it down within 24–48 hours. We offer this treatment if you ever change your mind or want to reset.
