Factors Contributing to Bruising
Dietary habits (e.g., vegan diets), vitamin intake (especially Vitamin E), menstrual cycle timing, recent infections, medications (e.g., ibuprofen), medical conditions, needle width or gauge, injection techniques, specific products used, and certain areas of injection can all contribute to bruising.
How to Avoid Bruising
Avoid strenuous activity before and after treatment. Avoid alcohol consumption for 5 days before the procedure. Avoid blood-thinning agents and vitamins for 5 days before the procedure (unless medically indicated). Avoid injections during the menstrual cycle. Use ice before and after the procedure. Consider herbal supplements before and after the procedure to reduce risk.
Will I Bruise?
There is always a risk of bruising, which can range from minor to severe. Most bruises resolve without intervention within 1 to 14 days. Contact us if you have concerns.
When Will I See Results?
You should start to see or feel results in 4-7 days. Some people may experience faster results, while others may take up to two weeks for final results to settle in.
Why does my head hurt?
Headaches can occur after about 10% of injections and are completely normal. If you’re not bruising, we recommend taking 500mg of Tylenol and 400mg ibuprofen; a little caffeine can also help.
Am I going to bruise?
Bruising is uncommon with Botox injections. If you suspect you’re developing a bruise, avoid caffeine, ibuprofen, and alcohol as they can make it worse. Try icing the area or taking an Arnica pill to speed up healing.
Why do I have small bumps on my skin?
Little bumps after injection are normal and usually resolve within 30 minutes. Occasionally, a bump may last a day or two, often due to a minor bruise. Icing the area can help.
Think you need a touch up?
We recommend waiting two weeks for final results. If you feel like you need a follow-up, let us know via text or email.
Just Plumped, What Now?
Immediately after treatment, your skin may show slight redness, similar to the effects of a facial, but it should return to normal in about 15 minutes. Avoid lying down for 3-4 hours and refrain from exercising or engaging in yoga for the next 24 hours. You can resume your normal skin conditioning and hydrating routine today.
What are some common side effects?
Bumps: These can sometimes happen with lip filler. Most bumps are small resolving bruises or a build-up of the product. These can be massaged out or, in rare instances, we can use a small droplet of a dissolver.
Swelling: Swelling depends on multiple factors, and just because you didn’t swell one time does not mean you will not swell the next time you do a treatment. Sometimes an anti-swelling medication will be given after your injection. Major swelling typically lasts less than 4 days, while minor residual swelling can last 14-21 days. Yes, please ice them!
Bruising: Some people are predisposed to bruising. We suggest that you avoid vitamins, alcohol, and ibuprofen products to minimize the chance of bruising. Bruises can last 2-3 days or up to 2 weeks depending on the type and location. Arnica pills ($50) can be purchased during your visit to help heal bruises. Occasionally, we may suggest a follow-up laser appointment to help speed up more severe bruises.
Am I going to bruise?
Bruising is uncommon with Botox injections. If you think you are getting a bruise, avoid caffeine, ibuprofen, and alcohol as these can make it worse. Try icing the area or taking an Arnica pill (we have these available for purchase!) to heal faster.
Why do they look uneven?
An uneven lip appearance is typically due to swelling. We can re-evaluate the symmetry once the swelling subsides (7-14 days), but this self-resolves 95% of the time.

What will my lips look like?
First and foremost, everyone is different. Different aesthetic goals, different lip structure, different metabolism, different genetics, different risk factors, etc. Do NOT compare yourself to someone else; you are your own lip, your own architecture, your own volume. Be proud of your uniqueness! It's what makes us different.

Facial fillers are injectable treatments designed to restore volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contours. They are commonly used to address signs of aging, add fullness to areas like the cheeks, and refine facial features.
How long do facial fillers last?
The duration of facial fillers varies depending on the type of filler and the treated area. Most fillers last between 6 to 18 months, with some advanced formulations lasting up to two years. Your provider can discuss the best options for your goals and desired maintenance schedule.

What should I expect during the procedure?
Facial filler appointments usually take 30-45 minutes. A topical numbing cream is applied to ensure comfort, and the filler is then injected into targeted areas. Results are immediately visible, with minor swelling or redness that typically subsides within a day or two.
Will the fillers look natural?
Yes, when performed by skilled injectors, facial fillers can provide natural-looking results that enhance your features without an "overdone" look. Our goal is to create subtle improvements that bring out the best version of you.
Is there any downtime after getting facial fillers?
Most people experience minimal downtime with facial fillers. You might notice mild swelling or redness at the injection sites, which typically resolves within a few days. We recommend avoiding strenuous activities and applying ice if needed.

Are skin treatments safe?
Yes, our skin treatments are safe and are performed by trained professionals using FDA-approved products and equipment. We follow strict protocols to ensure your safety and comfort during each procedure.
What should I expect during a skin treatment?
Each treatment varies, but most procedures involve minimal discomfort and downtime. We apply a topical numbing cream for comfort, if needed, and each session lasts between 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the treatment type.
How soon will I see results from my skin treatment?
Results vary depending on the treatment. Some treatments, like HydraFacials, provide an immediate glow, while others, such as laser treatments, may take a few days to a week for visible improvement as your skin heals and regenerates.
Is there any downtime after skin treatments?
Downtime varies by treatment. For example, HydraFacials have no downtime, while some laser treatments may result in mild redness or peeling for a few days. We’ll provide post-treatment care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery.
How can I maintain the results of my skin treatment?
Maintaining results involves following a good skincare routine, protecting your skin from the sun, and scheduling regular maintenance treatments. We’ll provide personalized recommendations to help you keep your skin looking its best.
When should I schedule a follow-up appointment?
We generally recommend scheduling a follow-up appointment within 1-2 weeks after your initial treatment if you have any concerns or would like to discuss your results. For certain treatments, a follow-up may be recommended at specific intervals, which your provider will discuss with you.
What should I expect during a follow-up visit?
During your follow-up visit, we will assess your treatment results and address any questions or concerns. Adjustments or additional treatments can be discussed if needed, ensuring that your results align with your goals.
Is there a cost for follow-up visits?
Most follow-up visits are complimentary if scheduled within the recommended timeframe after your initial treatment. However, additional treatments or touch-ups may incur a fee, depending on the specific service. Your provider will inform you of any potential costs during your follow-up.
Can I have another treatment at my follow-up appointment?
Yes, in many cases, additional treatments can be performed during your follow-up visit if desired. Discuss your goals with your provider to see if an additional treatment or touch-up would be appropriate.
