    After your visit.

The hours and days after treatment shape how your results settle. Here's what to do, what to skip, and what's completely normal.

    01Follow your provider first

Instructions given at your visit always take priority over this general guide.

    02Hands off, heat off

Skip pressure, massage, heat and hard workouts until your treatment's window has passed.

    03Give it two weeks

Swelling and settling are part of the process. Judge your result at the two-week mark.

    Botox & Dysport

Small doses, quiet results. Most of the work happens in the first few hours — then you simply wait.

    First 4 hours

    • Stay upright — avoid lying flat or bending over for long periods.
    • Don't rub, press or massage the treated areas.
    • Skip hats, headbands or tight goggles that press on the area.

    First 24 hours

    • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam and hot yoga.
    • Limit alcohol, which can increase bruising.
    • Hold off on facials, face massage and microcurrent devices.

    What's normal

    • Small bumps at injection points that fade within an hour.
    • Light pinpoint bruising or a mild headache.
    • Results begin in 3–5 days and settle fully by about 14 days.

    Two weeks

    Filler & Lips

Swelling is part of the process. What you see on day one is not your final result.

    First 24 hours

    • Avoid strenuous exercise, heat, saunas and alcohol.
    • Don't press, massage or sleep on the treated area unless your provider instructed you to.
    • For lips: avoid straws, kissing and very hot drinks; keep lipstick off until the skin is closed.

    First 2 weeks

    • Hold off on facials, laser, dental cleanings and face massage.
    • A cool compress (wrapped, never ice directly on skin) can ease swelling.
    • Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first few nights.

    What's normal

    • Swelling, tenderness and bruising — often worse on day two, especially in lips.
    • Small firm areas that soften as the filler integrates.
    • Final shape settles in about two weeks.

    Sculptra

A collagen treatment, not an instant one. Results build gradually over the following weeks and months.

    The 5-5-5 rule

    • Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days — or exactly as your provider instructed.

    First week

    • Avoid excessive heat, saunas and intense exercise for 24–48 hours.
    • Expect some initial fullness from fluid — it fades within days.
    • Stay well hydrated.

    What's normal

    • Swelling, tenderness or bruising for a few days.
    • The early fullness disappearing — that's expected before collagen builds.
    • Visible improvement over weeks; most plans involve a series of sessions.
    Aftercare

    Skin & Laser

Your skin is in repair mode. Treat it gently and protect it from the sun.

    First 24–48 hours

    • Use only a gentle cleanser, simple moisturizer and SPF.
    • Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours after microneedling.
    • Skip workouts, saunas and swimming pools.

    First week

    • Pause retinoids, acids, exfoliants and scrubs until your skin feels normal.
    • Wear SPF 30+ daily and avoid direct sun.
    • Don't pick or peel any flaking skin.

    What's normal

    • Redness and warmth similar to a mild sunburn for 1–3 days.
    • Tightness, dryness or light flaking.
    • Glow and texture improvement over the following weeks.
    When to reach out

    Don't wait on these.

    • Increasing pain, rather than easing, after filler.
    • Skin that turns white, blue, grey or dusky, or looks blotchy.
    • Any change in vision, or a drooping eyelid or brow.
    • Signs of infection: heat, spreading redness, pus or fever.
    • Trouble breathing, swallowing or speaking — call 911.
